We have so much to be Thankful for this Year, 2012
Thanksgiving this year set us out on a road trip. Bright and early Thanksgiving Day we got up, packed the car, & grabbed breakfast and coffee…. Off we were. To where, you ask? Granddaddy Russ’ house in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This proved to be a monumental day for our family.
In the car, We sang songs together. Played games. Ate a bunch of junk! Ahhhh memories lol 🙂 actually Thomas & I did make a music video of us singing to The Dubbie Brothers, “Jesus is just Alright with Me”. Now that is the stuff that makes for fun memories!
We checked into our hotel, then quickly visited Bethabara Park. What is this about? Per their website, it’s as follows. Bethabara is known for a small group of Moravians settled this religious village and trade center in an 18th-century wilderness, full of bears, wolves, Indians and outlaws.
A National Historic Landmark, this 1753 site of the German-speaking, Protestant settlement nestles in a picturesque, wooded 183-acre wildlife preserve with 126 species of birds.
The museum features a unique, restored and furnished 1788 church, archaeological ruins, Visitor Center with introductory video, exhibits and tours with costumed guides, as well as a reconstructed village, a French and Indian War fort and colonial and medical gardens.
you can explore 20 miles of nature trails, go to the mill site, observe wildlife from two observation docks over the beaver pond. Spot otters, mink, foxes, deer, and woodchucks.
Discover this 250-year-old communal experiment on the frontier, now a National Historic Landmark.
After a Great photo opportunity, of course; we were on the road again. Now for my children to meet their Granddaddy Russ & extended family for the very first time.
It was a beautiful day. And we were Blessed to enjoy Thanksgiving with my daddy. We had a wonderful meal, watched my Cowboys get beat 🙁 , & my daddy get to know his grandchildren. Precious Memories.
My daddy is dealing with sickness. He is very weak. And My Amazing Husband and precious children prayed for God’s healing over him. PRICELESS! My daddy was crying so much. He was so blessed by it.
Then we had to say goodbye. Returning to the hotel. The next day we shopped in the Hanes Mall & then we were on the road again.
Mistletoe Meadows! We went and picked out our tree. Brandon and Thomas cut it down. We had hot chocolate and fudge, Yummy! And a Ride in sleigh driven by 2 Huge Beautiful Black Horses from Grace Farms.
With our Christmas Tree in tow atop our four runner & Priceless Memories in our Hearts, we were headed back to Tennessee.
I believe our family times continue to get better and better with each opportunity that Jesus gives us. Just when you think it’s the Best One, the next one is even greater!
Thank You Jesus for giving us such Great times together! ❤
