Celebration
My Lil Chica’s 8th Grade Prom
My Lil Chica’s 8th Grade Prom
April 19th 2014, Saturday night, at The Holiday Inn in Johnson City, Tennessee.
The theme was “A Night in Paris”… one of Amber’s favorite places! So of course she wanted to attend. And I certainly wanted her to go!
I have watched My lil chica begin to bloom into a beautiful young lady. One that I am proud to say that Jesus has Blessed me by trusting me to love her, guide her, and enjoy having her in my life.
So yesterday, I spent the day doing her toes and nails in a lovely red shade with white flowers & rhinestones. Then we pulled in gorgeous mane if hair into a side ponytail; a fishtail braid in the middle of wavy curls came out of the ponytail laying over her shoulder. Played up her eyes with Mac makeup and a fabulous red stained gloss for her lips.
The dress was Amazing! A bluish-green strapless dress with a rhinestone waist belt and a handkerchief hem that was higher in the front and longer in back was Perfect with Amber’s Italian skintone. Irridecent slides with rhinestones on them provided the finishing touches for her shoes.
It was quite obvious Amber felt as beautiful as she looked. She had such a grateful heart full of joy and excited to have this opportunity. So proud of her!
A sweet young man in her class named Hunter was her date for the evening. We met up with Hunter in Jonesborough at the gazebo for photos and then we strolled all through downtown snapping tons of pictures in quaint places of the lovely couple. Then off to the Prom.
Arriving at the venue, of course I had to get a few last minute snapshots. They call me The Paparazzi, lmbo!
I have never seen such a Gorgeous young lady! Nor one so happy and excited. My goal as a parent in her life is to guide her toward Jesus as He is the One who loves her the most & will guide her all throughout her life, to be a channel of His love to her, and to give her nothing but great fun and the happiest of memories when she’s older to look back on. I want her to be able to say- that was the best time of my life! And to say- I knew I was greatly loved and encouraged at that time.
With a full heart I write today, knowing Amber had the time of her life last night. And I was blessed to be a part of it. The first of many more!

wow! Amber, you look beautiful! The turquoise dress was perfect and your hair was amazing! I have to admit when Audra shared with me about the red polish and lips, I wasn’t sure about that. She knows what she’s doing because it was a perfect combination. Thanks for sharing your memorable evening with us through these gorgeous pictures. Love you!
